How do you clean your inner self?

The ancient proverb ”cleanliness is next to godliness” has taken on a whole new meaning in my life. By taking 15 minutes a day to relax and free my mind from the negativity of the world I am able- on most days- to stay calm and keep my mind open to the opportunities that are surrounding me.

My favorite way to “clean” is to grab a cup of coffee, sit on my sofa  first thing in the morning  and appreciate my surroundings in silence. I guess I should say the noise is limited to the sounds of nature and a clock ticking away. Regardless of the subtle noises, this “silent” time  gives me the only opportunity I have all day to relax completely. No running here and there, or radios or TVs blasting. Just the kick I need to get my day going great and on most occasions keep it great all day.

What do you do to meditate, clean your mind, relax?

    Great topic, Barb!
I’m very fortunate to live in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, where all the peace and beauty of the natural world is right at hand. My favorite soul-refreshment is a long walk in the woods with my dog. Weather permitting, I do this every day. There’s always so much to observe in the forest, it takes my attention away from all the swirling thoughts in my head, and puts me in an open and receptive frame of mind.
